A Look Forward at November Events!
It's November and we have many great events coming up this month. November is that time of the year to get cozy, enjoy spicy pumpkin lattes and give thanks to all the blessings we had this year. We've hand-picked some of our favorite events happening here on the South Shore this month just for you. Take a look below!
Black Ice Theatre Presents "The Pillowman"
When: 10/24 - 10/27 and 10/31 - 11/03
Where: Lake Tahoe Community College
Winner of two Tony Awards and the Olivier Award for Best Play, Martin McDonagh’s The Pillowman opens in a prison cell where a young writer is being questioned about the children’s tales he has written – grim tales which have inspired copycat killings in the streets outside. Two interrogators tease out the resemblance between real and fictional worlds while probing the personal responsibility of the writer. Story piles upon story as the evening progresses, and the tension mounts when parallel interviews taking place in the adjoining cell with the writer’s sister are revealed.
Soroptimist International Annual Food, Wine and Beer Tasting
When: 11/01 at 6pm
Where: Harrah's Lake Tahoe
Attendees will sip on incredible wine from approximately 20 of Northern California’s top wineries, local breweries and sample a wide variety of delicious appetizers, entrees, and desserts from approximately 30 of the South Shore’s finest restaurants. This year's theme is “Black and White.”
“An Evening of Food Wine & Beer Tasting” raises money to fund the many projects and programs sponsored by Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe. All proceeds are directed back into our community through educational scholarships, youth activity sponsorship's and grants to organizations such as the Live Violence Free Center, Tahoe Youth and Family, the Drug Store Project, Christmas Cheer, Girls on the Run, Tahoe Arts Project and numerous projects that enhance services and quality of life in our community.
Tickets for each year’s “An Evening of Food, Wine, & Beer Tasting” event can be purchased from your favorite SISLT member or at www.sislt.org.
Free Sightseeing Cruise for Veterans on the M.S. Dixie II
When: 11/8 - 11/10
Where: M.S. Dixie II at Zephyr Cove Resort
Lake Tahoe Cruises is honoring all veterans and active military with a special 'Vets Ride Free' offer Friday-Sunday, November 8-10, 2019. Guests are invited to bring the family and enjoy a special scenic cruise on the lake.
The offer is valid for the 12:00 pm, Emerald Bay Sightseeing Cruise only. Military must show proof of service at the ticket booth to receive their boarding pass.

Named one of Comedy Central's "100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time," Breuer is one of the most recognizable comedians in the business, known for his charismatic stage antics, dead-on impressions, and family-friendly stand-up. Annual Valhalla Holiday Faire
When: 11/22 - 11/24
Where: The Magnificent Valhalla Grand Hall
24th Annual Valhalla Holiday Faire. Join us in the Valhalla Grand Hall for this annual, three-day holiday celebration and craft fair!
Friday, November 22nd: 4:00 - 8:30 pm
Saturday, November 23rd: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Sunday, November 24th: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Valhalla's annual Holiday Faire featuring a wonderful variety of local and regional arts and crafts vendors, a Grand Hall decked out in traditional holiday style, refreshments from our bar, photos with Santa, our amazing raffle and holiday cheer to kick off the season in true Tahoe style!
Picture it. The Valhalla Grand Hall decked out in style with a huge Christmas tree, lights and holiday decorations. Seasonal treats, thirty local vendors and artisans displaying and selling their wares and the South Lake Tahoe Children's Choral Society performing carols. Santa ho ho hoing and greeting folks.
Winter Wanderland at the Tallac Historic Site Lake Tahoe

Tahoe Heritage Foundation is welcoming the community to experience a new vision for the South Lake Tahoe’s ‘Old Tahoe’ summer estates. The Tallac Museum and Gift Shop will celebrate the coming of winter with a special Winter Wanderland weekend held in conjunction with the Valhalla Holiday Faire.
Holiday Lights will be featured, inspired holiday shopping in our Gift Shop and the Valhalla Holiday Faire, Entertainment will bring to life the sounds of the Holidays. This NEW Holiday tradition offers something for everyone! Wander and explore the historic site and lakeshore. Featured at the venue is special programming for the whole family, but especially the young at heart!

Opening Day at Heavenly Mountain Resort

Where: Heavenly Mountain Resort
Opening Day at Heavenly Mountain Ski Resort is Friday, November 22nd, weather permitting! The beginning of the 2019-2020 Lake Tahoe ski and ride season!
Join the celebration at Tamarack Lodge with live music, giveaways, donuts, happy hour previews and much more this November!
Kirkwood Mountain Resort is planning to open for the 2018-19 winter season on November 27, 2019, weather permitting.

Heavenly Village Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
When: 11/29 at 5pm
Where: Heavenly Village
Heavenly Holidays Community Christmas Tree Lighting in the Heavenly Village. Gather 'round as Santa lights our monstrous 70 feet, highly lighted, cut fir tree! The kick off ceremony will include: caroling, music and fun for all!
Tree lightings are daily at 5pm after November 29th.

The Clairvoyants Christmas
When: 11/30 at 8pm
Where: MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa
Amélie van Tass and Thommy Ten are “The Clairvoyants.”
In 2016, they decided to take part in the biggest talent show in the world, “America’s Got Talent.” After four months, six different performances and over 100.000 contestants, America voted them second place.
A highlight of their career was the opportunity to perform their show at the Sydney Opera House. In winter 2016 they experienced another career highlight, headlining the show “The Illusionists - Turn of the Century” in the Palace Theatre in New York City, on Broadway. The show was the best selling magic show in Broadway history.
