The housing market in South Lake Tahoe continues to face challenges as we head toward the end of 2024. A combination of high mortgage rates, steep home prices, and low inventory has created a difficult environment for both buyers and sellers. Mortgage rates cooled slightly but quickly rose again, leading to a “wait-and-see” approach from many buyers, who are either hoping for rates to drop or waiting for greater stability after the upcoming elections.
