South Lake Tahoe Monthly Market Update, January 2025
Over the past few years, the housing market has been a roller coaster ride. We've seen dramatic swings in interest rates, a shortage of homes available for sale, and a significant impact on affordability. Sales in the higher-priced market segments (above $1 million) saw a significant increase, while sales of homes under $500,000 declined slightly.

Home buyers are facing higher borrowing costs in the new year, with the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage jumping to a 7.04% average in January, according to Freddie Mac.
